John Pruett, age 80, of Grants Pass, died Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Three Rivers Medical Center.
No services are planned. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
John was born October 3, 1933 in Pryor, Oklahoma to John & Nellie Pruett. After graduating from high school he joined the United States Navy and served during the Korean War on the USS Hector. Throughout his lifetime he owned and operated various businesses. Two years ago he moved from Clear Lake, California to Grants Pass.
John enjoyed spending his time helping his friends and neighbors.
His hobbies included woodworking and fishing. His dog, “Butch” was his everything for the last 14 years.
Survivors include two sons, John D. Pruett of Cottonwood Heights, Utah and Gary Jones of Salinas, California; a daughter, Nancy Howard of Cottonwood, California; a sister, Pearl Rowley of Grants Pass; a nephew, Steve Sanderson of Grants Pass; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and many other family members.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Amy Delores Pruett in 1979 and his second wife, Martha Marie Pruett in 2011; son, Rick Jones and siblings, Cecil, Leon, Dale, Mary, Wanda and Frank.
