John Paul “D.J.” Roark, age 70, of Grants Pass, died Friday, November 26, 2010 in Rogue River.
Private services will be held. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
He was born August 4, 1940 in Boise, Idaho to Raymond & Grace Roark. He graduated from Boise High School and lived in Boise until age 25 when he moved to Roseburg, Oregon and worked for Roseburg Lumber for several years. He then moved to California where he assembled automobiles for Ford Motor Company for 20 years. From 1979 to 2005 he worked for Will Mayfield Trucking Company. He was a self-employed trucker as well. In 2006 he moved to Grants Pass.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Milpitas, California.
His hobbies included his CB radio, fishing, gardening, and trucking.
Survivors include his life partner of 20 years, Mabel Whitton of Grants Pass, Oregon and a stepdaughter, Leona Pineda of Grants Pass, Oregon.
