John M. Woodall

John Morris Woodall, age 87, passed away April 17, 2021 in Grants Pass, Oregon.

John was born September 16, 1933 in Athens, Texas to Ambrose and Nellie Woodall. John had three siblings Betty, Joanne, and Cecil “Woody”, and they preceded him in death. John’s family moved to Southern California in 1943 to be closer to relatives.

John served his country as a CPL(T) in the United States Army from 1953-1955. In August of 1955, John married the love of his life, Laura Lee Galbraith. While living in Chatsworth, California, they began their family journey and were blessed with four beautiful children, Jeanne, John Jr., Jay, and Janet.

In pursuit of a better life, John moved his family to Wimer, Oregon in 1970. He obtained his contractor’s license and began his long career of building and remodeling homes throughout the Rogue Valley, until he retired in 2006.

Both of John’s beautiful daughters preceded him in death, Jeanne Johnson on February 15, 2003 and Janet McMorrow on June 12, 2019.

John is survived by his wife of 65 years, Laura Lee Woodall of Grants Pass; son John Jr. and his wife Debbie Woodall of Rogue River, son Jay and his wife Norika Woodall of Gold Hill; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

John was a loving husband, an amazing father, and a true friend…
