John Vernon Hardie Sr, a proud U.S. Air Force veteran, firefighter, race car driver, truck driver, mechanic, carpenter, electrician, Harley rider, and true jack of all trades, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2025, after a hard-fought battle with lung cancer. He was 78 years old.
Born with a spirit of adventure and a knack for fixing just about anything, John lived life on his own terms. Whether he was behind the wheel of a race car, navigating the open road in a big rig, or riding his Harley with the wind at his back, he embraced every challenge with skill and determination. His hands built, repaired, and created, leaving behind not just structures but memories of a life well-lived.
For 30 years, John shared his greatest adventures with his beloved wife, Mariah. Together, they traveled far and wide, collecting stories, laughter, and a lifetime of cherished moments. Their journey together was one of love, companionship, and boundless exploration.
John leaves behind a legacy of hard work, resilience, and an unyielding love for the road ahead. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those fortunate enough to have known him.
Per his wishes, no formal services will be held. Instead, those who knew him are encouraged to honor his memory by taking a ride, hitting the open road, or simply raising a toast to a life lived full throttle.
Rest easy, John. Your adventure continues.
Please share a memory of John in his Guestbook.
