John Festvog

John Festvog, died as the result of an auto accident on November 28, 2018 near Cave Junction, Oregon.

John lived in Colfax, Iowa until moving to Oregon in 2004. John graduated from Colfax-Mingo High School in 1999. He worked in construction in Portland, Oregon until moving to Cave Junction in 2013.

John’s dream was always to be a farmer and he spent his time in southern Oregon pursuing his dream.

John is survived by his son, Oluf of O’Brien, Oregon and Oluf’s mother Amara Cole; his parents Kent & Marjory Festvog of Colfax, Iowa; sisters Karen (Keith) Akerberg of Des Moines, Iowa and Katie (Jake) Baldwin of Collins, Iowa; nephew Jonas Baldwin and niece Jaida Baldwin both of Collins, Iowa; and grandmother Sarah Byrns of Jefferson, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Robert Byrns, Oluf Festvog and Dordie Festvog.

A celebration of life gathering will be held to honor John’s memory at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Takilma Community Center, 9367 Takilma Road, Cave Junction.
