John Edwin Haden, 84, of Grants Pass, died Thursday, May 11, 2006 at Three Rivers Community Hospital.

John was born July 21, 1921 in Long Beach, California where he was raised and attended Long Beach Poly High School. He then attended Los Angeles City College. He worked at Consolidated Aircraft in San Diego until his enlistment in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After the war, he worked for American Optical Co. in Long Beach and Los Angeles then owned and operated Eue Optical Co. in Pasadena. Grants Pass and the Applegate Valley were John’s favorite places on earth where he spent his happiest times. After visiting for years, he retired here in 1990.
He was a longtime member of Josephine County Sportsman’s Association.
John is survived by his wife of nearly 63 years, Madeline Dresser Haden of Grants Pass; two sons, John Richard Haden of Coronado, California and William Allen Haden of Medford; a daughter, Nancy Haden Allen of Placentia, California; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
