John David Fisher, Sr., age 81, of Rogue River, died Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at Fair View Transitional Health Center.
A viewing will be from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, November 1, 2009 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.
A funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 2, 2009 at Hull & Hull Chapel with The Reverend Daniel O’Donnell officiating. Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Rogue River.
John was born May 29, 1928 in Lubbock, Texas to Clyde & Vella Fisher. On September 10, 1946 in Fullerton, California he married Edna Westerman. He worked as a custodian for the Buena Park California School District. In 1990 he moved from Buena Park to Grants Pass.
He was a member of Rogue River Community Center.
His hobbies included vegetable and flower gardening and raccoon hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Fisher of Rogue River; four daughters, Carolyn Moberly of Billings, Montana, Linda Stickney of Lake Arrowhead, California, Edith Wagner of Placentia, California and Barbara Schulte of Rogue River; a son, John David Fisher, Jr. of Grants Pass; a sister, Louise Barceles of Washington; three brothers, Herman Fisher of Anaheim, California, Donny Fisher of Brandon, Florida and Dwayne Pennington of Arkansas; 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and. four great-great-granddaughters.
