Joel Wilford Hornbeck

Joel Wilford Hornbeck, age 84, of Grants Pass, died Monday, July 6, 2009 at Royale Gardens Health & Rehabilitation Center.

No services are planned. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Joel was born June 14, 1925 in Charlotte, Michigan to Roy J. & Gertrude E. Hornbeck. The family moved from Michigan to Southern California and then to Grangeville, Idaho. Joe served in the United States Navy for 18 year and was married and divorced three times. In 1995 he moved from Grangeville to Grants Pass.

He was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He loved being outside. He loved life and lived it his way. He enjoyed collecting coins.

Survivors include three brothers, LaVern Hornbeck of Grants Pass, James Hornbeck of Poulsbo, Washington; and John Hornbeck of Grangeville, Idaho.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy J. & Gertrude E. Hornbeck and a brother, Terrence L. Hornbeck.
