Joe Perrin Walker, age 90, of Grants Pass, died Monday, August 29, 2011 at his home.
A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 8, 2011 at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
Joe was born August 28, 1921 in Stroud, Oklahoma to Arden & Estella Walker. He served in the United States Navy as a machinist mate on the USS Hornet and the USS Cabot. On December 25, 1945 in Safford, Arizona he married Norma Jean Doussett. Joe worked as a carpenter and retired as a superintendent for Yeager Construction. In 1992 he moved from California to Grants Pass, Oregon.
Joe was a member of the Carpenters Union and the Coast Guard Auxiliary.
He enjoyed deep sea fishing especially in the Sea of Cortez.
Survivors include Norma Jean Walker of Grants Pass, Oregon; a son, Gary Walker of Smithville, Oklahoma; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Larry Walker and Harry Walker.
