Joe Keebler, age 93, of Grants Pass, died July 30, 2017 at Arbor House.
He was born Samuel Joallan Keebler on August 9, 1923 in Lebanon, Oregon to Samuel & Jessie Keebler. During World War II from 1943 to 1946 he served as a United States Navy Seabee. From 1950 to 1999 he was married to Catherine Austin. In 1999, he married Yvonne Throop Katchka. Joe owned and operated his log truck working in southern Oregon and northern California retiring in 1985.
Joe enjoyed RV traveling the lower 48 states and Alaska.
He was a member of the Escapee RV Club.
Joe enjoyed playing both the piano and organ by ear his whole life. His hobbies including driving, RV traveling, going out to breakfast at the Wonder Bur; and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Yvonne Keebler of Grants Pass, Oregon; Joe is survived by two sons, Jeff Keebler of Eagle River, Alaska and Ron Keebler of Red Bluff, California; two daughters, Kris Birnie of Red Bluff, California and Donna Harden of Grants Pass, Oregon; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
A committal service with military honors will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 15, 2017 at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
Remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
