JoDena Fields, age 72, of Grants Pass, died Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Royale Gardens Health & Rehabilitation Center.
A viewing will be at 8:30 a.m., Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.
A funeral service will begin at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Hull & Hull Chapel. Interment will follow at Granite Hill Cemetery.
JoDena was born August 15, 1938 in Pound, Virginia to Wayne & Edmonia (Bise) Kelley. On September 14, 1954 in Coos Bay, Oregon she married Darrel Loyd Fields and on October 13, 1972 they were sealed in the Oakland Temple. She moved from Coos Bay to Grants Pass 51 years ago.
JoDena was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Riverside Ward.
She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her hobbies included sewing; cooking; gardening; reading; crocheting, especially intricate afghans for her children; and canning which she did every year.
Survivors include two daughters, Freida Spann of Coos Bay, Oregon and Nancy Fields of Springfield, Oregon; a son, Douglas Loyd Fields of Grants Pass, Oregon; her stepmother, Flossie Kelley of Pound, Virginia; two brothers, Johnny of Oregon and Chalmer of Washington; nine half brothers and sisters, Ricky, Leon, Mary Rose, Virginia, Gordon, Larry, C.H., Audry, and Scarlett all of Virginia; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrel Fields on February 9, 1994 and a son, Darrel Loyd Fields Jr.
