Joan D Galvan

Joan D. Galvan, age 69, of Grants Pass, died Thursday, February 23, 2012 at her home with family members at her side.

The family had a private viewing and as per her request no services are planned. Illinois Valley Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Joan was born on April 25, 1942 in San Francisco, California and was raised in Marin County, California. She met her husband in Sunset Beach,California and was married on September 3, 1962 in Reno, Nevada to Albert Galvan. Shortly after marriage they resided in Novato, CA.

Leaving behind her loving husband Albert Galvan of Grants Pass; two daughters, Joanelle Quijada of Hesperia, California and Shelli Galvan of Eagle Point, Oregon; a son, Donald Galvan of Central Point, Oregon; two sisters, Jackie Chitwood of Oklahoma and Janice Thompson of California; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, older brother and a younger sister.

She retired in 2004 from her daycare business in Novato, California prior to moving to Grants Pass, OR where she enjoyed crocheting blankets for her children, her grandchildren and great grandchildren and also spending as much time with her family as she could.
