Jessie “Lee” Westerman, age 74, of Grants Pass, died Sunday, April 26, 2009 at Three Rivers Community Hospital.
A viewing will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.
A funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 30, 2009 at Hull & Hull Chapel with Pastor Milton T. Hayes officiating. Interment will follow at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens.
He was born Jessie LeRoy Westerman on February 25, 1935 in La Habra, California to John & Florence (Garrett) Westerman. He worked as an appliance and furniture salesman for Leonard’s Department Store while living in California. In 1978, he moved from Buena Park, California to Hugo and in 1999 moved to Grants Pass. He was a salesman at both Patino’s Appliances and AWS Window & Door Sales. Since the late 1980s he was co-owner with Bob Watts of Lee’s Quality Door until selling the business in 1997. He then worked part-time for the new owner to help transition the business.
He was a member of Illinois Valley Golf Club. An avid golfer, he also carved and painted gords.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred K. Westerman of Grants Pass; three sons, David L. Westerman of Crescent City, California, Lonnie R. Westerman of Omaha, Nebraska, and Gary D. Westerman of Grants Pass; a daughter, Vicki R. Pitts of Washington D.C.; a sister, Jewell Fisher of Rogue River; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
