Jesse “The Barber” Kemper

April 12, 2015 was the end to our amazing Jesse L. Kemper’s life, he was almost 62 years old. Jesse was a Barber by trade for 40 years and became famously known wherever he cut hair as the “Flat Top King”. Jesse enjoyed servicing the Grants Pass community for 22 years before retiring in May 2014 due to cancer. Born in April, 1953, Jesse was the 1st born son to Donald and Shirley Kemper. Siblings Michael, Denise, and Guy Kemper soon followed. Jesse enjoyed all the wonders and beauty of his birthplace in Southern California for 38 years while always yearning for more, as he embodied a rural lifestyle. In 1983 Jesse met the love of his life Robin. Jesse married Robin in 1985. Together they shared in the joy of bonding with Jesse’s twin boys, Jason and Jonathan Kemper while building on the foundation of their union. Six years later Jesse and Robin were blessed even more with a third son Nicholas Kemper. In 1992 Jesse, Robin, and Nicholas moved to Grants Pass, Oregon fulfilling Jesse’s desire at being a “country boy” and residing where they loved to vacation. Jesse enjoyed the outdoors and had a great appreciation for nature and all its inhabitants. Jesse was a brother from another mother to both his sister-in-laws, Linda and Carol. Jesse treasured “all the good times” he had shared with his family, friends, and relatives. It is impossible to encapsulate Jesse’s being. Jesse touched many people’s lives. He was a quiet, humble, and proud man. Jesse’s presence will be missed by all of us who loved him so dearly. Along with his loving wife, Robin, he leaves behind his three sons Nicholas Kemper of Oregon , Jason Kemper married to Amanda, and Jonathan Kemper married to Sara; five grandchildren all of Missouri; his mother Shirley; sister Denise Mouser, and brother Guy all of California; five nephews; two nieces; three great-nephews; and many other extended family members and friends. Jesse joins his father Donald Kemper of California and brother Michael Kemper of Florida.
