May 27, 1944 — August 3, 2017

Jerry Mark Watson, age 73, of Grants Pass, passed away peacefully August 3, 2017 at his home.

Jerry was born May 27, 1944 in Grants Pass to Russell & Mabel Watson. He grew up in Grants Pass and attended Grants Pass High School, class of 1962. One of his first jobs was working for Hull & Hull Funeral Directors as an ambulance driver. He then worked at Agnew and then Four-ply Mills as a grader, glue mixer, and forklift driver retiring in 2002 when the mill closed in 2002.

Jerry enjoyed animals and raised a few pet goats, cows, pigs, horses, ducks, chickens, dogs and cats over the years. His four-legged “love of his life” was “Cookie” his chocolate lab from 2001 through 2015. When his knees were strong, he enjoyed duck and deer hunting; especially the camping aspect (he was always the camp chef). He remodeled his home, enjoyed yard work and carpentry and was a very talented “Mr Fix it.” He loved his family and friends and enjoyed gatherings with them.

Jerry married June Karen Hutchins in 1963; they later divorced. He married Sherry L. Watson in 1972.

Watson of Grants Pass; a daughter, Robin Park of Terrebonne; two sons, Robert Dale Watson of Langlois and Todd Russell Watson of Coos Bay; brother, Burt Watson of Eugene; nieces; nephews; nine grandchildren, Michael, Stephanie, Marisa, Christian, Aarin, Kaylah, Samuel, Noah, and Mabeleen; and four great-grandchildren, Skyler, Kiana, Delilah, and Charlee.

A celebration of life will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 14, 2017 at Hull & Hull Chapel with Pastor Bob Ratcliff officiating. Private interment will be at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens.
