Jerome “Jerry” Moore, age 84, of Grants Pass, died Saturday, March 31, 2012 at his home.
No services are planned. Scattering of his cremated remains will take place at a later date. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

“Jerry” was born on December 12, 1927 in Spokane, Washington. On November 22, 1952 in Oakland, California he married his wife, Viola. At age 14, he joined the United States Army and while in boot camp he contracted spinal meningitis. Because his grandmother was then notified, the Army found out he was underage and he was honorably discharged. At age 15 he joined the United States Navy and served four years as a submariner during World War II. After his military discharge, he fished commercially in Alaska; worked in heavy construction on California freeways; and later for East Bay Municipal Utility District in Oakland, California for 32 years as a construction and maintenance supervisor. After retiring in 1989 he moved from San Leandro, California to Grants Pass.
He was a member of VUMS (Veterans of Underage Military Service), a national organization of veterans of all the services who joined underage.
His hobbies included fishing, gardening and maintaining his green lawn
Survivors include his wife, Viola of Grants Pass; three children, Casey, Kelly and Andrew; and six grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were two brothers and a sister.
