Jean Elizabeth Barnes

Jean Elizabeth Barnes, age 95, of Grants Pass, died Monday, April 4, 2011 at Spring Pointe.

Private services will be held. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Jean was born October 6, 1915 in Omaha, Nebraska. In 1933 she married John Francis Barnes Jr. John retired from Inspector of Detectives in Omaha and Jean worked as a restaurant hostess at Hilltop House until John’s retirement in 1965. At that time they moved to Ventura, California where they lived for 23 years. Jean & John worked at All American Sporting Goods in Ventura for 12 years, Jean as a cashier and John as a salesman. In 1988 Jean & John moved from California to Grants Pass, Oregon.

After purchasing a recreational vehicle, Jean & John had many great trips. They traveled with friends and had a wonderful life. Jean was a talented seamstress and enjoyed making all different types of crafts throughout the years.

Jean & John were blessed with two children; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

John preceded her in death on August 14, 1999.

Grandma is gone now…but never forgotten.
