Jean Davison, age 86, of Grants Pass, died Sunday morning, July 8, 2007 at Highland House Rehabilitation Center.
A visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, July 13, 2007 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.
A funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 14, 2007 at Hull & Hull Chapel with Pastor Dennis Webber officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Jean was born January 18, 1921 in Salem, Oregon to John William and Ethel Marie (Magee) Denniston. In 1937 she moved with her family from Salem to Grants Pass. In High School she won numerous awards on the Grants Pass High School debate team, including taking first place in the State Oratory Championship Debate and an honorable mention in the National Interscholastic Speech Tournament in 1939 in Beverly Hills California. She graduated from Grants Pass High School in 1939.
On September 23, 1943, Jean married Roy Davison in Honolulu, Hawaii. They lived in Sacramento California after the war and in 1965 returned to Grants Pass where she lived the remainder of her life. Jean worked in the Josephine County Clerk’s office from 1967 to 1981 as an accounting manager. She was a member of Parkway Christian Center.
In addition to her husband, Roy Davison of Grants Pass, survivors include two daughters, Fran Davison of Portland and Kathi Klingler of Los Angeles, and one granddaughter, Ellie Mosbaek.
