Jamie Scott, age 51, of Cave Junction, died Monday, October 8, 2012 at Three Rivers Medical Center.
A memorial service will be at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Fountain of Life Assembly of God Church, 451 S Junction Avenue, Cave Junction with Pastor Mark McLean officiating. Illinois Valley Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
Jamie was born July 11, 1961 in Grants Pass, Oregon to Freeman & Eleanor Scott and was their youngest son. He grew up and attended schools in the Illinois Valley and graduated from Illinois Valley High School. In 1986 he was hired by Three Rivers School District and for 26 years he worked as head custodian at Lorna Byrne Middle School and for 15 of those years he coached basketball. On August 26, 2000 in Cave Junction he married Annetta Ware.
Jamie attended Fountain of Life Assembly of God Church.
His hobbies included spending time with his grandchildren and his two dogs; going for drives throughout the Valley; and playing basketball.
Jamie is survived by his wife, Annetta Scott of Cave Junction, Oregon; a daughter, Laura Ware of Cave Junction, Oregon; a son, Josh Ware of Medford, Oregon; three sisters, Sue Cababag, Dianna Kihs and Shelly Davis all of Cave Junction, Oregon; three brothers, David Scott of Cave Junction, Oregon, Richard Scott of Yreka, California and Garen Scott of Crescent City, California; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Freeman Scott; his mother, Eleanor Scott; his stepdad, Homer Lemm and his oldest brother, Robert Scott.
