James William Bennington

Jim Bennington, age 89, of Selma, Oregon, died February 6, 2023 at Asante Three Rivers Medical Center.

James William “ Jim” Bennington was born June 4, 1933 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Jim grew up and attended Hamilton Grade School, Twin City Junior Academy, and Maplewood Academy all in Minnesota. He joined the United States Air Force and worked as an aircraft mechanic. Jim later worked in the oil fields and for Sue Bee Honey. In August 1969 he moved from Minneapolis to Selma.

Jim volunteered at The Seventh-Day Adventist Church with Dorcas.

Jim’s hobbies included fishing, crossword puzzles, playing cards, reading, golf, treasure hunting, and watching sports on television.

He is survived by sisters Marian Petersen of Oregon, and Ruth Rafuse of Washington; brother Daniel Bennington of Minnesota and many nieces and nephews including niece Lisa Derov of Oregon.

He was preceded in death by his parents Edgar & Etta Bennington, and brother Edgar Bennington Jr.
