James Lintner, a veteran of the US Army, passed away on 25 March 2024.
Raised by Bernie and Dorothy, Jim grew up in Lafayette, Indiana, where he joined the US Army. He served overseas as both Redeye and Chaparral surface-to-air crewman and attained the rank of SFC. His post-retirement civilian service included acting as an Observer/Controller for international wargames hosted at Hohenfels CMTC in Germany.
He met his second wife while serving in Germany and they later moved to Arizona, finally settling in Grants Pass. A heart-attack survivor, Jim’s health declined after Ilona passed away in 2022. He is survived by his grandsons, Thomas and Benjamin.
James Lintner was quietly proud of his military service, and will be honored with a Military Service Plaque to be placed at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
