James E. Christensen

James E. “Chris” Christensen, age 97, of O’Brien, died July 29, 2018 at his home.

Chris was born July 8, 1921 in Arco, Idaho to Elwood & Kathryn Christensen. He grew up in Arco and attended schools there. At age 18, he joined the United States Navy and later retired as an Engineman. On January 26, 1947 in Baltimore, Maryland he married Elizabeth Marie Hadaway. In 1975 he moved from Torrance, California to O’Brien.

His hobbies included working on cars and around the house, and reading.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Christensen of O’Brien, Oregon; five children, James Christensen of Carson, California, Anna Valenzuela of Pleasanton, Texas, LeRoy Christensen of O’Brien, Linda Joseph of Huntington Beach, California and Kevin Christensen of Cave Junction, Oregon; ten grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be from 12 noon to 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 3, 2018 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.

Military honors will begin at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 3, 2018 at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
