James Duvhan Ellis, age 73, of Glendale, died Friday, August 26, 2011 at Three Rivers Community Hospital.
James was born October 18, 1937 in Oneida, Tennessee to Clarence & Rheba Ellis. He served in the United States Marine Corps. James worked as a truck driver for Delta Sand & Gravel in Eugene, Oregon and Cottage Grove Sand & Gravel in Cottage Grove, Oregon before working for Kaiser Aluminum & Chemical Refractories Corporation until his retirement.
James especially loved his dog, Smokey and spending time with friends and family. His hobbies included hunting; operating heavy equipment; attending CB radio jamborees; having his Ham Radio License; listening to police scanners; working on cars as a “backyard mechanic”, having “Colorado kool-aids”; and just “tinkering” around.
He is survived by his two children, Belinda Colunga of Creswell, Oregon, and Jamie Williams and husband Dale Williams of Glendale, Oregon; two step-daughters, Vickie Thomassin and husband Fabrice Thomassin of Salinas, California, Bonnie Rogers and husband Rick Rogers of West Fir, Oregon; one step-son, John Nelson and wife Marne Nelson of Springfield, Oregon; two sisters, Willene “Whimpy” Hultberg and Jeani Needham; three brothers, Ed Delk, Donald Ellis, and Ronald Ellis; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Private services will be held. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
