Jack Charles Zieser

Jack Charles Zieser, age 83, of Rogue River, died Tuesday April 24, 2012 at his home.
A funeral service will be held Monday, 1 P.M. at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors, with Don Michael, minister, officiating. Private interment will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
Born to William and Florine Zieser in San Pedro, California in 1928, Jack spent most of his childhood in California. He moved to Rogue River, Oregon in 1946 and graduated from Rogue River High School in 1947. Two months later he enlisted in the United States Air Force. Jack and Patricia Kile married in Grants Pass Oregon on December 24, 1949. In 1964 he was stationed at Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage, Alaska where he and his family experienced an unforgettable 8.5 earthquake. He retired as a Senior Master Sergeant in June 1971. Following his Military Career Jack worked for the USPS in Grants Pass for the next 3 years. In 1974 he followed his heart and attended the Sunset school of preaching in Lubbock, TX. He was instrumental in starting a congregation of the Church of Christ in Rogue River in 1979 and continued his preaching throughout the remainder of his life.
In addition to his wife, Patricia, survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Lee Ann and Bill Weir of Veneta, Oregon, Kathy and Marshall Mack of North Plains, Oregon; one brother and his wife, Wallace and Phyllis Zieser of Grants Pass, Oregon; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by Brother Ronald Zieser.
