Iva May Pelphrey

Iva M Dahle Pelphrey, 91, long time resident of Grants Pass, died Wednesday April 1, 2020.
Iva was born October 14, 1928, in Los Angeles, California to Andrew M. Dahle and Verrell Smith Dahle.

On May 10, 1947, she married Stanley J. Pelphrey in Las Vegas In 1951 they moved from Los Angeles to Pico Rivera where they build a home to accommodate their growing family. They had 3 children Karen Pelphrey(Blume), Richard L Pelphrey, and Michael J. Pelphrey.

While the children were young Iva stayed home to raise the children, but as the children got older, she trained to be a school bus driver and went to work for the school district in Pico Rivera. Iva was very proud of that accomplishment and was quick to tell you about being a bus driver until the day she died.

In 1973 She and Stan moved to Fullerton Ca. They lived there until retiring in 1984, when they moved to Grants Pass.

Iva was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she was active her entire life. She loved teaching the little children in Primary and being of service were ever she could.

In their younger years she and her husband Stanley enjoyed boating and water skiing with the family and friends.

She enjoyed working in the yard, playing volleyball, bowling and reading. But her two favorite things were her cats and chocolate.

She is survived by, Karen P Blume her daughter, sons Richard L. Pelphrey Michael J Pelphrey 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
