Irmande 'Mande' Juliette Bouchard, age 88, of Selma, died Wednesday, April 15, 2009 in Cave Junction at a local foster care home.
A memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 9, 2009 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (temporary church building on Redwood Highway south of Cave Junction). Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society, c/o Richard Bouchard, PO Box 1835, Cave Junction, 97523 (the funds will be used for local people).
She was born October 6, 1920 in L`Annonciation, Quebec, Canada. She moved with her foster parents to Pittsfield, Massachusetts when she was a small child. In 1938 she met and married the love of her life, Joseph Emile Bouchard. They made their home in Pittsfield and with five children their lives were complete. On July 16, 1943 she became a United States citizen. In 1975 Joe died of cancer and Irmande moved to California to live with her daughter Julia, who died of cancer in 1998. She then lived awhile with her two youngest sons, Richard and Paul, and then lived alone until 2004. At that time, she moved from Anaheim, California to Oregon to live with son, Richard and his wife, Dusty.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Survivors include four children, Joseph Emile Bouchard Jr. of Pennsylvania, Richard R. Bouchard of Selma, and twins, Paul Edward Bouchard of Oroville, Washington and Pauline Sayers of Pittsfield, Massachusetts; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
