Irish Smith, age 71, of Kerby, died Monday, April 28, 2014 at her home.
A memorial service will be at 6:00 p.m., Monday May 5, 2014 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Cave Junction. Illinois Valley Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
Irish was born Marna Jean Jung on December 21, 1942 in Portland, Oregon to Leonard & Patricia Jean (Casserly) Jung. She lived a full life, marrying twice and having four children. In 1976 she moved from Carson City, Nevada to Oregon. She was an addiction counselor and loved to help others with their struggles. Most of all she was a fun loving person with lots of hugs to give and jokes to share.
Survivors include her children, Raymond Elmer, Casey Elmer and Shawn Elmer; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and she will be missed by all.
Irish was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Cave Junction Ward.
Her hobbies included reading, beading and collecting.
Preceding her in death was her daughter, Patricia Wolf.
