Irene Karras

Irene Karras, age 76, of Brookings, died Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at her home.

A viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 13, 2009 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.

A graveside service will follow at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 13, 2009 at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens with Followers of Christ officiating.

Irene was born April 12, 1932 in Modesto, California to Carl & Pearl Randolph. Shortly after Irene was born, they moved to Grants Pass where she grew up and attended school at Jerome Prairie. She met her husband William “Bill” Karras through Eunice and Mel Mathews and in May of 1953 in Grants Pass they married. After her husband retired in 1984, they moved from Medford to Brookings where she spent the remainder of her life. She was loved by all that met her.

She was a member of Followers of Christ.

Survivors include her husband William Karras of Brookings, two sisters, Doris Perkins and Jenette Sanford and a brother, David Randolph.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl & Pearl Randolph, and brothers, Jim Randolph and Richard Randolph.
