Imogene Cleola Nutting-Hobson

Our precious mother passed away peacefully June 4, 2015 at home surrounded by her family

Imogene was born October 11, 1924 in Wendell, Idaho to Thomas & Nellie Wickersham, moving from Wendell, Idaho to Murphy 50 years ago and later to Grants Pass. She relocated to her daughter, Gloria’s home in Sams Valley in 2011. Imogene worked as a nurse’s aide. At 50 years old she proudly went off to Rogue Community College, earning an Associate Social Services Degree. She worked for Josephine County Childrens Services until she retired.

She volunteered at Helpline in Josephine County.

She enjoyed quilting, gardening, reading, cooking and spending time with her large family. She especially loved being around children.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Hobson; 11 children, sons, Virgil, Pat, Jack and Ivan Nutting; daughters, Sandra Ratcliff, Juanita Conklin, Gloria Ratcliff, Vicki Lallo, Julie Nutting, Tammy Blenkush and Kim Reese; 33 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren, most living in the Rogue Valley.

Preceding her in death was her former husband, Ralph Nutting; children, Monte, Carolyn and Mike Nutting and Lola Mesa; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild; one brother and six sisters.

A graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Granite Hill Cemetery.
