Ida C. Francis, 87, of Murphy, Oregon for 30 years, passed away peacefully with her family at her side. She was born January 2, 1931, in Clinton, Maryland, to Ernest Irving and Dorothy Eleanor Mudd.
Ida graduated from Gwynn Park High School in Brandywine, Maryland, in 1948. Ida worked in Washington, D.C. and then at Patuxent River, Maryland, where she met and married the love of her life, William (Bill) Francis, in 1952, who was a Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy. They moved to Oxnard, California, the same year, where Bill finished his USN obligation and continued his education.
Before moving to Murphy in 1988, Ida worked as Office Manager for Vista View School in Fountain Valley, California, and also at Vandenberg AFB as a secretary to Military Officers.
After building their home in Murphy, Ida took up tole painting as a hobby and won many awards at Josephine County fairs for her paintings. She also enjoyed RV travel, gardening, and quilting.
Ida is survived by her loving husband, Bill; son, Michael (wife, Maura); daughter, Rayleen (husband, Vince); daughter, Kathleen (husband, Bill); son, William (Bill), Jr. (wife, Beth); sister, Nina living in Loveville, Maryland; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Ida will be remembered by her friends and family for her kindness, love, sense of humor, and generosity.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Eagle Point National Cemetery in Eagle Point, Oregon.
