Hubert “Ole” Oltjenbruns, age 76, of Grants Pass, died Sunday, November 21, 2010 at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
A viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Friday, November 26, 2010 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.
A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 27, 2010 at Redwood Country Church with Pastor Fred Schmidt officiating. Private interment will be at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
Ole was born June 7, 1934 in Osmond, Nebraska to Walter & Ruth Oltjenbruns. He married Mary Lou Buller in Omaha, Nebraska. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Les McCoy & Sons in Southern California until his retirement in 1980. In 1980 he moved from California to Cave Junction and in the 1990s moved to Grants Pass.
Ole was a member of Redwood Country Church in Grants Pass and Radio Control Flyers in Medford.
He was a licensed pilot. He also enjoyed flying radio control airplanes, golfing, gardening and landscaping on his own property.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Oltjenbruns of Grants Pass, Oregon; two sons, Lee Oltjenbruns of Grants Pass, Oregon and Steve Oltjenbruns of Rancho Cucamonga, California; a brother, Kenny Oltjenbruns of Nebraska; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
