Howard Yarbrough, 70, died 4th June 2017 in his home in Selma, OR. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your local Shriners Club. There will be no service.
Howard was born on 28th of January, 1947 in Grants Pass, Oregon to Howard and Alberta (Pullen) Yarbrough. Howard was the oldest of three siblings, Richard and Doug were his two brothers. He also grew up with many cousins who all have great stories and memories of him. He was drafted by the Army in 1966 and served two years in Korea. Howard was a timber faller by trade. Howard married Sally (Wright) Yarbrough on April 12th, 1974. They had four children together, Michael, Carl, Raymond, and Loren, and share many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Howard was a hardworking, honest man who was a friend to many and who cared deeply for his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and working around his home in Selma. He was a lifelong Illinois Valley resident. Howard valued hard work, and doing things the right way. In tribute, a friend said, “He had an immense amount of love and respect for his wife and sons and their families. If there were more dads like him this would be a much better world.”
Howard was preceded in death by his son Carl, his brother Richard, his granddaughter Kayla and both of his parents Howard & Alberta. Howard will be forever missed greatly by those lives that he touched. He was a great man.
