Hilmar “Chuck” Holmboe, age 84, of Grants Pass, died Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Three Rivers Medical Center.
A Celebration of Life will be from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., January 26, 2013 at Spring Meadow, 1357 Redwood Circle, Grants Pass, Oregon. Private interment will be at Willamette National Cemetery. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
Chuck was born February 5, 1928 in Portland, Oregon. During World War II he served in the United States Navy and belonged to his local VFW. He retired from the Medford Mail Tribune as a machinist. He served in several Rogue Valley police departments and had a police dog named Gypsy that served with Search and Rescue. He was co-founder for the Southern Oregon Rogue Valley Reserve Academy.
He belonged to the Christian Motorcycle Association and was a Patch Collector.
Survivors include his two children JoAnn and Sam; two step-children, Francine and Nadine; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
