Herbert Leland Johnson, age 91, of Grants Pass, Oregon died Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Haven House.
A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 30, 2012 at Parkway Christian Center Fellowship Hall with Pastor Ron Marsh officiating. Private inurnment will be at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Herbert was born January 9, 1921 in Campbell, California to Oliver & Betty (Benson) Johnson. He graduated from Glad Tidings Bible Institute in San Francisco and later moved to Costa Mesa, California where he graduated from Southern California Bible College. It was in Bible College where he met Alice Mae Skaggs and they were married July 26, 1942, celebrating their 70th anniversary this year. For 33 years he pastored in Campbell, California. He moved to Grants Pass nine years ago.
Herbert was an ordained minister for 70 years, was a member of the Assemblies of God and Parkway Christian Center while living in Grants Pass.
He especially loved and was devoted to his wife, Alice. He also loved music and enjoyed playing trombone and upright bass and singing.
In addition to his wife of 70 years, Alice Mae Johnson of Grants Pass, Oregon; Herbert is survived by two daughters, Joyce Milton of Vacaville, California and Jeanette Webber and husband Dennis of Grants Pass, Oregon; four grandchildren, Leland Milton and wife Ramsie, Philip Milton and wife Kellie, Jeremy Webber and wife Danita, and Andrew Webber and wife Heidi; and six great-grandchildren, Lucy Milton, Rory Milton, Oscar Webber, Tilly Webber, Jack Webber and Maggie Mae Webber.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Vivian Danbom, Evelyn Coad, Lorraine Pine, and Alva Cooksey.
