Herbert Dean "Pop Ford" Ford

Herbert Dean Ford, (“Pop Ford” to all his friends) age 81, of White City, went to join our Lord and Savior Friday, August 20, 2010 at Providence Medford Medical Center.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Providence Hospice, 2033 Commerce Drive, Medford, Oregon 97504.

A visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 27, 2010 at Butte Creek Baptist Church in Eagle Point, Oregon.

He was born on May 8, 1929 in Elgin, Kansas to Floyd & Eliza Ford. In 1970 he married Mary Ann Pigott and they were married for 30 years. Pop served in the United States Army from 1950 to 1952. He worked in wood products for years and retired from Boise Cascade in the 80’s. He loved his family, friends and cars, not always in that order. He will missed by all of us.

He was a longtime member of Rogue Valley Street Rods and one of the original members of Jefferson State Street Rods. He was also a member of the Butte Creek Baptist Church and loved the Lord.

His passion was street rods, car shows and swap meets. Over the years he has built many awesome street rods.

Survivors include seven children, Mitch Ford, Ron Pigott, Don Pigott, Deborah Carruthers, Lucille Trautman, Bonnie Ellis and June Bradford; three sisters, Vera, Nadine and Agnes, also known as “Shorty”; 20 grandchildren and 21 Great-grandchildren and a loyal and faithful companion until his passing, Dixie Walters.

Preceding him in death was his wife Mary Ann Ford; two brothers, Aubrey, Irvin and a sister, Loretta.
