Henry Michael “Mike” Schuster, age 71, of Grants Pass, died May 15, 2018 at his home after battling his disease valiantly and with grace.
Mike was born January 31, 1947 in Covington, Kentucky. Mike and his wife Joan, spent 41 years of their lives together and were very blessed to have wonderful family and friends with whom they shared so many good times together. Mike worked in the water reclamation industry for Los Angeles county for 37 years. After retiring he and Joan moved from Quartz Hill, California in 2010 to Grants Pass to enjoy the beauty of Oregon, a dream of Mike’s for years.
Mike and Joan enjoyed motorcycling – riding Harley’s with their large group of friends; sailing; camping in the motorhome with family and friends; and spending time with family and friends celebrating birthdays, graduations, and special occasions. He loved his golden retrievers and never traveled without them. He loved driving the various muscle cars and corvette that he owned over the years and recently purchased a boat and was looking forward to start fishing.
Mike was always willing to help wherever he could lend a hand or an ear.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Diane Schuster; two daughters, Tamara Schuster Moran and Shelli Schuster Rappaport; sisters-in-law, Barbara, Heidi, Jeanne, and Anita; brothers-in-law, Wayne Griffin, Mike Fordice, Dan Davidson, and James P. Butler; six grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins in England including Aunt Joyce, and cousins, Lexine, Peggy, Susan, Tracey, Heidi, and Sydney.
He was preceded in death by parents, Henry Clay and Agnes Schuster; and granddaughter, Lauryn Moran.
Mike was the best husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother-in-law, and godfather anyone could ever have. He loved his family unconditionally and was always there to help in good times and bad.
He was an incredibly caring, loving, sincere person and will be forever in our hearts.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Mike and Joan’s home in August.
