Helen Marshall, age 89, of Grants Pass, died Friday, April 1, 2011 at an adult foster home.
A memorial service will be held in Acton, California. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of local arrangements.

Helen was born September 4, 1921 in Olathe, Colorado to Floyd & Elray Henney. She moved with her family to California and in 1939 graduated from South Gate High School and then later attended college. On April 12, 1941 she married Milton L. Marshall. During World War II while her husband served in the military she worked in a factory in South Gate. She moved from Acton, California to Grants Pass four years ago.
Helen was a member and elder at Acton Presbyterian Church where she was ordained a deaconess on December 13, 1981. She was also active in the Acton Women’s Club.
Her hobbies included sewing, bingo, gardening, and crossword puzzles.
Survivors include a daughter, Marriane Habeger of Acton, California; two sons, Leroy Marshall of Rogue River, Oregon and Melvin Marshall of La Mesa, California; three sisters, Lillian Kummerfeld of Encinitas, California, Jean Hulsey of Dallas, Texas, and Phyllis Thomas of Seal Beach, California; and three grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Marshall; two brothers, Floyd Henney and Frank Henney; and three grandchildren, Kevin Habeger, Dariel Marshall and Kelly Marshall.
