Helen Herzog, age 69, of Rogue River, died Sunday, July 12, 2009 at her home surrounded by family and friends.
A graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 16, 2009 at Woodville Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Rogue Valley Community Church. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
She was born Helen Maxine McHughes on January 12, 1940 in North Little Rock, Arkansas. On May 13, 1956 she married William F. Herzog. She moved from Gilroy, California to Rogue River 22 years ago.
She attended Rogue Valley Community Church which she enjoyed immensely.
Helen loved music, especially southern gospel. She was an avid seamstress, wonderful cook and enjoyed playing pinochle regularly at the community center. She was a loving grandmother, mother, and friend to many and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her husband, William Herzog; three daughters, Linda Herzog, Debra Krein and Judy Hardy all of Rogue River; three brothers, Douglas McHughes and Glen McHughes both of Arizona and Jim McHughes of Nevada; seven grandchildren, Billie Giffin, Eric Giffin, Michelle Krein, Matthew Krein, Cortney Hardy, Richard Hardy, and Kylee Hardy; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Ken and a sister, Marie McHughes.
