Harold "Lynn" Thomas

Harold “Lynn” Thomas of Grants Pass, Oregon passed away, Tuesday, July 4, 2017, after a brief and sudden illness.

He was born to HL and Wynemma Thomas on June 6, 1953, in Duncan, Oklahoma.

Lynn grew up in Duncan, OK, and Lovington, New Mexico. He graduated from Duncan High School and entered Oklahoma State University. He obtained a BS in Microbiology in 1975. He then attended St. Anthony’s School of Nursing in Oklahoma to obtain his RN, and was accepted into the Wausau School of Anesthesia. He graduated in 1981, as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.

After moving to Austin, Texas, Lynn met Carol and they were married in 1984. They moved to Grants Pass in 1999, with their children, Matthew and Heather.

Lynn worked for Asante Three Rivers Medical Center (previously Three Rivers Community Hospital) for several years. He later joined the partnership of Rogue Anesthesia where he worked primarily at the Grants Pass Surgery Center.

Lynn loved all sports. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, scuba diving and skiing. He was an Oklahoma Cowboys fan and watched their games. He attended Blazer and Timbers games in Portland.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; son, Matthew; daughter, Heather; mother, Wynemma; brother, Jim; sister, Sandie (Bob); nephew, Noel (Heather); and his niece, Nicole.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on July 21, 2017 at River Valley Community Church (downtown campus), 290 NE “C” St., Grants Pass, Oregon.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Josephine County Humane Society and/or Hearts with a Mission, Grants Pass.
