Harold "Hal" Lyell Lusk

Harold 'Hal' Lyell Lusk, age 86, of Grants Pass, passed from here to the Arms of his Lord, Friday, December 6, 2013.

A memorial service will begin at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 4, 2013 at Countryside Village-Main Reception Room. Private interment will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Hal was born in Kansas in January 6, 1927 to Vance & Pearl Lusk. The family moved to Michigan where he earned a Bachelors degree from the University of Michigan in Engineering. He joined the United States Navy where he spent time in the Pacific Theatre during World War ll. He married Patricia and they had four boys; Pat Lusk, Jim Lusk, Randy Lusk, and Gary Lusk before her death. All four boys are Navy veterans who served in Vietnam. Hal married Jane Laura Darlington in 1954. They had two boys, Ron Lusk and Mike Lusk. Jane died in 1967. Hal worked in the mortgage industry until 1979, when he started A Sentry Mortgage Corp in Los Angeles, California. He became friends and later married Phyllis Ramler Jan. 23rd 1982. He moved from Manhattan Beach, California to Grants Pass in 1987. They both lived and loved fully until her death in 2012. He was always ready for the next adventure, which is exemplified by taking up wood carving at the age of 78. His wood carving won him thanks and awards. Dad was a good friend, a loving husband, and a value to this community.

He was preceded in death by his mother and a sister. He will be missed. Dad had 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. His life would be summarized by, 'Well done my son!'.
