Harold D. Cabler, age 88, of Glendale, died Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Three Rivers Medical Center.
A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Redwood Country Church with an ice cream social to follow. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
Harold was born April 17, 1925 in Billings, Montana to Quincy & Ruby (Stevens) Cabler. He came to Grants Pass from Oklahoma with 12 members of his family in the back of a 1937 pickup truck. In 1945 he graduated from Grants Pass High School. In 1949 in Grants Pass he married Leah Miller. Harold went to work as a dry cleaner then logged with his brothers (C&C Logging) before spending the next 28 years at Cabax Mills. He retired from custodial work at Allendale Elementary School. He moved from Grants Pass to Glendale 12 years ago.
After retirement he enjoyed traveling with his wife, Leah; working at his cottage industry making outdoor furniture; and having fun with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He especially enjoyed woodworking.
Harold is survived by his wife, Leah Cabler of Glendale, Oregon; four daughters, Judy Dramer of Gresham, Oregon, Paula Adams of Central Point, Oregon, Peggy Cabler and Robyn Richardson both of Glendale, Oregon; a son, Clayton Krieger of Idaho; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
