Guy W. Beathe

Guy Warren Beathe was born May 30, 1942 at Vashon, Washington. Guy passed away peacefully on January 17, 2020 at Highland House.

Guy was a 1961 graduate of Grants Pass High School. He enjoyed attending sporting events as an alumni booster. Guy served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the U.S.S. Constitution and the U.S.S. Coral Sea. Guy worked at the Daily Courier in the composing room for 45 years as a printer, retiring in 2008.

Guy enjoyed bowling on the Daily Courier’s bowling team. He enjoyed watching football and basketball. He truly loved square dancing and served as president of the Christian Cross Trailers. He was a member of the Jaycees. Guy was very active at Parkway Christian Center.

Many knew Guy as “Yuggles,” a name given to him by his niece, Amy. Guy was very witty and always had a quick humorous come back.

Guy was preceded in death by his parents Guy & Cleo Beathe, his siblings Molly Beathe, Roberta Hildebrand, Jessie Harmon and Homer Beathe. He is survived by a sister Flora Sellards and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of Highland House Veterans wing and Royale Gardens for their compassionate care of Guy.

A memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.

Private interment was held at Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
