Goldie Lois Wytcherley, age 74, of Glendale, died Thursday, January 23, 2014 at her home.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Azalea Glen Christian Center, Azalea, Oregon. Interment will be on Wytcherley family property. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
Goldie was born May 26, 1939 to Harvey & Jessie Goodwin in Wonder, Oregon. On October 12, 1954 Goldie married Rolland Keith Wytcherley in the Grants Pass Church of the Nazarene. From 1968 to 1969 she worked as a school bus driver for the Grants Pass School District. In 1975, together with her husband, she was a long haul truck driver pulling flat bed, RV transport, dry-van and refer freight. After retiring from trucking they owned and operated Schmarky's Pizza Parlor in Gold Hill and sold the business after four years in 2002.
Goldie attended Azalea Glen Christian Center.
Her many hobbies included crossword puzzles, Crytoquote, embroidery, crocheting, knitting, leather and bead work, her houseplants, and as a young lady she enjoyed drag racing in Grants Pass.
Survivors include her husband, Keith Wytcherley Sr of Glendale; two sons, Terrel Wytcherley of Upland, California, John Wytcherley of Glendale, Oregon; daughter, Virginia 'Ginny' McDermott of Days Creek, Oregon; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son Rolland Keith Wytcherley Jr. on April 24, 2012; her siblings, Mae Lowden, Herman Goodwin, Gladys Baker, Leola Killian, Cecil Goodwin, Myrlene Bagley, and two infant brothers.
