Golda Mae Schrom Duncan

Golda Mae Schrom Duncan (Peggy) passed from this world on October 23, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center, in Roseburg, Oregon. She was 60 years old, just 8 days shy of her 61st birthday.

She was born on October 31,1950 in Sprakers, New York at home and delivered by her paternal grandmother, Golda Mae Cater Schrom(for whom she was named) to Harvey Schrom and Mattie Margaret Parker Schrom. She married Charles Duncan, in Roseboom, New York.

She is survived by her children, Louis Edward Duncan of Columbia, Tennessee, Charles Duncan Jr. of Phoenix, Arizona, Gina Marie Duncan of Myrtle Creek, Oregon, William Joseph Kilts, Riddle, Oregon, 11 grandchildren, and 1 great-grand-daughter. Her sisters and brothers include Gloria J. Munson (John) of Worcester, New York, Harvey Schrom (Lynda) of Glendale, Oregon, Johanna Schrom of Maryland, New York, Mary Evelyn Loehr (Anthony) of Maryland, New York, Bridget Ann DeGruchy, of Oneonta, New York, Burton Barton Jr. of Myrtle Creek, Oregon, and Elaine Irene Gaylor ( Jim ), Tri City, Oregon and numerous nieces, nephews, and great -nieices and nephews. Aunts, and cousins living in Tennessee and New York.

She was predeceased by her father, Harvey Schrom, mother, Mattie Margaret Parker Schrom Barton, sisters, Lola Lee Mould, Freda Marie Koncelik, her daughter, Laurie Williams and one grand-daugther.

She attended the Cherry Valley Central School, Cherry Valley, New York. She was a homemaker, and devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed FaceBook using it to keep in touch with family and friends far and wide, searching the family tree, reading,crafts, playing computer games,yard saling and loved animals and children.

She will be gravely missed by her family and friends, who take joy in knowing that she has joined family and loved ones who have gone before her.

There will be a celebration of her life at the homes of Harvey and Lynda Schrom in Glendale, Oregon and John and Gloria Munson in Worcester, New York on Sunday, October 30, 2011.
