Glenda June McKercher, age 78, passed away to be with the Lord Thursday, June 8th, 2023, at Celia’s House in Holmes Park, Medford. She was born in Lindsay, California, in 1944. In 1979, she and her family moved to southern Oregon, and she had been a resident of Rogue River since 1983.
Glenda is a descendant of Captain Levi Scott, her 4x Great Grandfather, who organized and led the expedition to blaze the Applegate-Scott Oregon Trail, which goes through the Rogue Valley. He also led the first wagon train to travel the southern route, going up to the Willamette Valley.
She is survived by her three children, including Rhonda Noble of Cave Creek, Arizona and Jeff McKercher of Cheney, Washington. There will be a private family service at a later date.
Please share memories of Glenda in her Guestbook.
