Glen Manary 1931 - 2014
Glen was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and lived there until December 1941. HIs father worked for Harmon Construction Co. building Army bases and the family moved state-to-state during this period. In 1945, when the war was over, they moved to California.
Glen attended school in Redondo Beach, California, until he joined the Army. He was sent to Japan and trained as a medical technician and paratrooper. His company was one of the first to be sent to the front lines in Korea.
After discharge, he married Ruth Martin. Together they had three children and fifty-three years of a happy marriage.
Glen was a heavy equipment operator for Los Angeles County. Upon retirement, Glen and Ruth retired to Grants Pass.
Glen enjoyed people, fishing, hunting and golf. He and Ruth attended Applegate Christian Fellowship and Edgewater Fellowship.
He is survived by his children, Ronald Manary and wife, Candy; Rebecca Manary; Thomas Manary and wife, Theresa; six grandchildren; and two sisters, Joyce McGuffin and Carol Adcock. Glen will be greatly missed. Gravesite services will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park on May 29th at 11am.
