Gertrude Eva "Eve" Wilkins

Gertrude Eva Wilkins “Eve” age 91, of Grants Pass, Oregon died October 11, 2016 at Royale Gardens Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Eve was born May 10, 1925 to Robert & Josephine Smith in Madison, Ohio. She lived in Ohio until age 17. She married Jewel Charles Tiffany at the age of 18 and together they had two children, Carole and Curtis. After 16 years of marriage they divorced and she later met and married John William Stubstad and they had a daughter Sandee. She and John divorced 18 years later. She then married Faye Messinger and they served an 18-month mission to Cebo, Philippines for the LDS Church. After a divorce with Faye, she married Owen Wilkins in 1995 and he preceded her in death in 2013. Eve graduated from Boise State University at the age of 72 with a degree in Political Science. She moved from Boise, Idaho to Grants Pass three years ago.

Eve volunteered with March of Dimes and served as chairperson in Ontario, Oregon; with the Republican National Committee; and the Ontario Garden Club.

She is survived by a son, Curtis Tiffany and wife Kathryn of Grants Pass, Oregon; a daughter, Sandee Carpenter of Lake Oswego, Oregon; four sisters, Beulah “Pat” of Reno, Nevada, Beverly of Grants Pass, Eunice “Kay” of Nampa, Idaho and Margaret of Grants Pass; a brother, Robert; ten grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Owen Wilkins she was preceded in death by a daughter, Carole Owens; two sisters, Ruth and Mary; three half-sisters, Bell, Thelma and Ethyl; and a brother, Herbert.

Private interment will be at Dry Creek Cemetery in Boise, Idaho.
