Georgia Mae Lewis

Georgia Mae Lewis, age 82, of Cave Junction, died Friday, November 2, 2012 at Ashley Manor.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 9, 2012 at Illinois Valley Praise Center with Pastor Steve Davis officiating. Private interment will be at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Georgia was born August 15, 1930 in Memphis, Tennessee. In 1947 in Memphis she married Joffrey Lewis, who preceded her in death. In 1962 she moved from Memphis to Los Angeles, California. In 2006 she moved from California to Cave Junction.

While living in California, Georgia was a member of New Hope Baptist Church where she served on the Mother’s (hospitality) Board and Eastern Star both in Long Beach. After moving to Cave Junction, she was a member of Illinois Valley Praise Center since 2006.

Her hobbies included cooking, yard work, flower gardening, and caring for her grandchildren.

Survivors include three daughters, Annette Lewis of Lakewood, California, Clara Lewis and Sylvia Hardy both of Cave Junction, Oregon; a son, Larry Lewis of Downey, California; a sister, Mable Foreman of Kirby, Tennessee; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and ten great-great-grandchildren.
