On October 30, 2015 George Willis King, 79 of Grants Pass, Oregon who was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and Veteran of the Korean War entered into eternal peace in his home with his loving family by his side.
George was born in Tolleson, Arizona to Jesse & Lorena King on October 18, 1936. He proudly served his Country, in the United States Navy from 1953-1957. He was self-employed at King's Backhoe Service in Salinas, California where his company motto was 'We Dig It'.
George loved bowling and spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse & Lorena King, one sister Helen Jeanne Shelley and his grand-daughter Britney Ray King. George is survived by his wife of 58 years, Alice 'Ali' King; his brothers Larry King of Grants Pass, Oregon, Steve King of Monterey, California, Jerry Willingham of Salinas, California and Roy Willingham of Boise, Idaho; His sisters Patsy Ratliff of Grants Pass, Oregon and Francine Chastain from Las Vegas, Nevada; His daughter, Regina King of Soledad, California and his son, Kelly King of Shingletown, California and daughter Sunny King of Shingletown, California and his two grand-children Joshua Honea and Kendra Honea of Soledad, California as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
The family wishes to thank Oregon Health and Science University & Hospital and the Veterans's Administration for giving us the cherished gift of having George for two additional years in our lives. Additionally, the family is grateful and thankful to Lovejoy Hospice for their loving kindness and sensitivity to George's wishes.
A celebration of his life will be held at Hull & Hull Funeral Home, 612 NW A St., Grants Pass, Oregon 97528 on Friday, November 6, 2015 at 11am.
