George B. Sturm

George B. “Bruce” Sturm, age 81, of Applegate, died November 14, 2023 at Home on the Rogue in Grants Pas

Bruce was born May 2, 1942 to parents Ray and Laura Sturm in Los Angeles, California.  He married his kindergarten sweetheart Nancy Settle, on February 18, 1962 in Burbank, California. Bruce and Nancy moved to Applegate, Oregon in May of 1964.  After his retirement from United Grocers, Bruce and Nancy provided foster care for medically fragile children for 27 years.

Bruce loved the outdoors, including hunting, fishing, farming, hiking, cross country skiing, sailing and cycling.

He attended services at Applegate Christian Fellowship from its inception and served as a deacon for many years.
Bruce is survived by his wife Nancy; and seven children Jennie, Cam, Abby, Brian, Brenda, Arontae and Stephanie. He was preceded in death by his son Dale.

A service will be held at 1:00 p.m., December 30, 2023 at Applegate Christian Fellowship.
